Two goals from Yvener Guerrier sparked Brooklyn Italins to a 4-2 win over Jersey Express
Newark, NJ-May 14, 2014- Two goals from Yvener Guerrier sparked Brooklyn Italins to a 4-2 win over Jersey Express Wednesday night at NJIT Stadium.
In the 81st minute, Guerrier dribbled from the right side into the middle before ripping a shot into the back of the net to give the
Italians a 3-2 lead.
With less than 3 minutes left before the game ends, Guerrier’s penalty kick made it a 4-2 game. Brooklyn would carry the lead until the game end.
However, the Express were on fire in the first half. Within the first 10 minutes, a foul just outside the penalty box led to a free kick taken by William Torreson Paulino (Brazil) led to a goal by Markus Hackett which gave the Express a 1-0 lead. The Italians however came into the second half stronger tying the game at the 49th minute.
Just a few minutes later, forward Christopher Karcz (Clifton, NJ) scored a goal giving the Express a 2-1 lead over the Italians. The Express had many good looks but just couldn’t seem to hold on.
A red card was given to Christopher Lebo (Dillsburg, Pa) in the final seconds of the game which gave the Italians a e penalty kick to end the game.

The Express is back in action on May 21st at Drew University, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
