Newark, NJ-July 15, 2014- Forward Joseph Ovensari (Nigeria) scored two goals and Defender Walter Hines (Costa Rica) added two goals and two assists to power Jersey Express to a 8-0 win over FA Euro.
Andrew Morgan (Atlanta, GA) scored the first goal just four minutes into the game with a pass from Conor Fitzpatrick. The Express increased their lead to 2-0 in the 12th minute when Christopher Lebo (Dillsburg, PA) received a pass form Andrew Tinari and scored.
Hines scored the first of his two goals in the 31st minute with an assist from Lebo to give the Express a 3-0 lead. Four minutes later, Kene Eze (Livingston, NJ) scored a goal off a pass from Hines. Five minutes before the end of the half, Christopher Karcz added another goal give the Express a 5-0 lead.
Forward Ovensari scored the first of his two second-half goals in the 54th minute just seconds after Hines scored his second goal of the game. Ovensari also scored the final Express goal in the 86th minute.
Goalkeeper Matthew Turner (Westwood, NJ) made two saves in net for Jersey Express. Fabio Hernandez had eleven saves for FA Euro. The Express outshot FA Euro 14-6.
Jersey Express returns to action Wednesday, July 16 when they return to NJIT for an 8 p.m. game against Baltimore Bohemians.
